Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how HypeDrive ("HypeDrive", "we", "us") handles information in connection with the HypeDrive Twitch Extension, the HypeDrive streamer desktop app, and the HypeDrive website (together, the "Service"). HypeDrive is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Twitch Interactive, Inc.
Information we collect
- Twitch viewer and channel identifiers. The Twitch Extension SDK provides the channel being watched and an opaque user identifier. If you choose to share your Twitch identity to add a message, Twitch may provide your Twitch user ID. A message-free Hype Drop does not require identity linking.
- Bits transaction and Hype Drop records. When you use Bits to activate a Hype Drop, Twitch processes the exchange and sends transaction details needed to verify and fulfill it. We may store the transaction ID, Twitch user and channel identifiers, display name, Bits amount, product identifier, status, timestamps, and an optional message. We do not receive or store payment card details.
- Public Hype Drop content. An approved display name, Bits amount, and optional message may appear publicly in the channel overlay, mobile panel, leaderboard, and Twitch chat. Streamers can approve, reject, or remove viewer messages and Hype Drop entries.
- Streamer account and authorization data. When a streamer connects Twitch, we may store their Twitch channel ID, login and display names, email address, account and broadcaster type, profile image, view count, account creation date, granted OAuth scopes, OAuth access and refresh tokens, token expiry, HypeDrive settings, and setup state. Tokens are used only to provide authorized Twitch functionality such as configuration, moderation, and chat.
- Website forms. If you request access, contact us, or suggest a game, we collect the details you submit, such as name, email or Discord contact, Twitch channel, requested game, and message. Forms are processed by Web3Forms on our behalf.
- Analytics, usage, and diagnostics. The website and Twitch Extension use Google Analytics. Google may process technical and usage information such as page views, device and browser details, approximate location, and IP-derived information. The Extension requests IP anonymization. We may also process limited logs and error details needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service.
How we use information
- To operate, maintain, and display HypeDrive features on stream.
- To verify, fulfill, attribute, moderate, and record Hype Drops.
- To authenticate streamers and maintain channel configuration.
- To respond to access requests, questions, and game suggestions.
- To diagnose problems, measure usage, prevent abuse, and improve security.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We disclose information only as needed to operate the Service: with Twitch for Extension, Bits, moderation, configuration, and chat functionality; with infrastructure providers that host our application, database, and cache; with Google Analytics for usage measurement; with Web3Forms for website form delivery; when required by law; or to protect users and the Service. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments.
Data retention
We retain information only while needed for the purpose described above. Hype Drop records may be kept for channel history, moderation, transaction integrity, and streamer analytics. Streamer account, settings, and OAuth data are kept while the account remains connected or as needed to provide the Service. Website submissions are kept while we respond and complete reasonable follow-up. Analytics retention is controlled through our Google Analytics settings. We delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed, subject to legal, fraud-prevention, security, and transaction-record obligations.
Your choices and deletion requests
You can use Hype Drops without adding a message. Adding a message requires choosing to share your Twitch identity with the Extension. You can stop using the Extension at any time, and streamers can remove HypeDrive or revoke Twitch authorization. To request access, correction, or deletion of information associated with you, email us below. We may request information needed to verify the account or transaction. We delete Twitch data when required after a valid end-user or Twitch request, authorization revocation or scope reduction where we receive notice, or termination of the applicable Twitch developer agreement.
Security and international processing
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we process. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. HypeDrive operates from Israel, and service providers may process information in other countries under their applicable legal and contractual safeguards.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under the age required to use Twitch in your region, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
